Viruses

Viruses present a real problem for most public premises, particularly schools, care homes and hospitals. We can offer specialist advice for cleaning and prevention of viruses such as the Coronavirus and Norovirus (the winter vomiting bug).
Every year, thousands of cases of Norovirus infections occur in the community and while the infection only lasts a few days it can remain viable for up to 12 days in carpets, soft furnishings and surfaces. The result of this is potential re-infection, which is especially serious in care homes and hospitals where residents and patients are elderly or more susceptible to infection.

Vacuuming carpets can re-circulate the virus, so we recommend the professional application of neutral ph based anti-microbial to kill the virus and protect against re-infection. We have found this to be the most cost effective and efficient way of dealing with the Norovirus for the many care homes, schools and conference centres we carry out work for.

Infestations

Infestation leads to damaged furniture, carpets and curtains – we recommend safe insecticidal treatments where there is evidence of carpet fibre damage from carpet moth or carpet beetles.

We are often asked to do flea treatments on carpets, when tenants have had cats or dogs and a potential flea infestation may occur. It is illegal to carry out an infestation treatment without there being actual evidence of flea infestation. If it is necessary, this can be carried out after the carpets in question are professionally cleaned thoroughly first.
