Ab Fab’s 11 Step Cleaning Process

1. HIGH-FILTRATION VACUUM

First we vacuum with a powerful HEPA filtration vacuum which lifts and traps more dry soils, dirt, dust, pollens and stops them from escaping back into your home. Most vacuum filters only remove 50 to 70% of material, we only use our hospital grade HEPA filtration vacuums, which is why our system has the Seal of Approval from the British Allergy Foundation.

2. MOVE LARGE FURNISHINGS

We respectfully ask that you move any smaller items prior to our arrival and generally tidy items from the floor areas to be cleaned. This enables us to move larger furnishings – such as sofas, chairs, sideboards, tables, beds and bedside cabinets – for insurance reasons we ask you to move any valuable or breakable items such as ornaments and glassware before we arrive.

3. PRE-SPOT DIFFICULT STAINS

We will carry out specialist stain removal techniques on stains which are of particular concern to you or those we know will be difficult to remove using non-specialist techniques

4. ECO FRIENDLY CARPET SHAMPOO PRE-SPRAY

Next we will apply an eco friendly carpet shampoo (appropriate to your carpet) pre-spray specially designed to breakdown and lift dirt and pollutants from your carpet fibres and suspend them in an aqueous solution ready to be quickly and safely extracted using our state-of-the-art extraction machines.

5. AGITATION TO ASSIST SOIL AND DIRT REMOVAL

Using a contra rotating soft brush machine we will gently massage the cleaning solution/carpet shampoo from the base to the tips of every carpet fibre.

6. HIGH POWERED HOT WATER EXTRACTION

Often referred to as steam cleaning, our high pressure hot water extraction unit produces a superior clean as it’s able to shoot continuously heated cleaning solution into the carpet fibres for a split second, helping to break up the dirt, bacteria and pollens, prior to being draw out immediately using an extremely powerful 3 stage, multiple inline vacuums. Which also helps ensure the carpets dry in the quickest time possible using this method.

We also have dry compound carpet cleaning and low moisture carpet cleaning systems available if preferred or as certain carpet fibres dictate.

7. RESIDUE AND FIBRE RINSE

Just like when you wash your clothes, you add a fabric softener to the rinse process. Similarly, to ensure your carpet fibres feel beautifully soft after we’ve finished, we always make sure we have rinsed all the carpet cleaning and shampoo residues from your carpet using the recommended rinse process for your carpet fibre type to ensure its integrity and help to retard future re-soiling.

8. APPLY PROTECTOR (WHEN REQUESTED)

Once you are happy with the clean, the protective treatment is applied, creating an invisible shield to help protect the fibres from future stains & spillages.

9. PROTECTIVE FURNITURE TABS

Furniture is replaced back onto the carpet with protective tabsp or Styrofoam blocks under any wooden or metal legs. Why? Sometimes the small amount of moisture left in the carpet will leach out any colour-stain finish from the furniture leaving a (very difficult to remove) stain on the carpet.

10. GROOMING

We will groom your carpet to leave it in the best possible condition, ensuring the fibres are tangle-free and as ‘fluffy’ as possible.

11. RAPID DRY SYSTEM

The aforementioned grooming process coupled with the powerful vacuums helps to dry the carpet very quickly. To help ensure your carpet can be used as quickly as possible, we can also use special carpet drying equipment to help reduce the drying time to least amount of time for your particular carpet type and fibre content. For customers who wish to have a dry carpet clean, we also have the Dry Fusion low moisture system and Host dry carpet extraction systems available.
